The staff at our clubs are trained thoroughly so that all are prepared and excited about the season ahead!
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, we aim to enhance the lives of young people and their families by providing a positive environment that cultivates academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character. Absolutely none of this would be possible without the assistance and dedication of our staff members and volunteers. From safety to colleague support and emergency drills to staff expectations, our team goes through rigorous training and refresher courses.
This season, we will be further developing our staff’s skills in the following areas:
- Behavior management
- Mandated reporting
- Teen programming
- Coaching other staff/volunteers
- STEM
- Social Emotional Safety
Not only do we develop our staff but we train our high school volunteers as well.
Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program focuses on helping teens discover their potential as leaders. Participants will attain valuable job skills, behavior management techniques, and learn how to properly supervising campers, and learn how to implement fun activities and games.
To become a CIT you must be entering 10th-12th grade & attend an orientation.
First Orientation date is Saturday, June 3, 10:00am-12:00pm
