For Get Organized Month, de-clutter your home.
Now that we’re into the swing of 2017, it’s time to organize for the year ahead. In honor of Get Organized Month this January, spare a few extra minutes to clean and unclutter your home.
Use these tips to get your home in ship shape for the New Year!
Get rid of junk. If you have stacks of junk in the corner or old items shut away in the garage, it’s time to tackle the task now. Donate, recycle, or throw away items that you don’t use or are damaged beyond repair.
Storage solutions. Now that you’ve uncluttered your house, it’s time to organize what you do have left. Make sure that each item has a home that doesn’t clutter tabletops, countertops, or doorways.
Keep it clean. Once you’ve gone through all of that hard work, you probably don’t want to do it again until next January when it’s Get Organized Month. Believe it or not, but it’s actually easier to keep things clean and tidy than it might seem. Aim to do just 15 minutes of clean up each day so that you don’t have to waste a whole Sunday afternoon. With much more bite-size, manageable tasks, you’re able to keep everything clean and organized for the long haul.
Include your children. Teaching your kids how to tidy up probably instills great organizational skills. Encourage your child to tidy up after themselves and how to keep their spaces clean.
