Visit these exciting places with your kids this summer break.
With your kids out of school, or soon to be, parents face the summer holidays. Love them or loathe them, they offer six long weeks of entertaining your children. This should be looked on as a cherished time to explore with your kids! Now is the perfect opportunity to explore theme parks, museums, beaches, arcades, kayaking, swimming pools, water parks, movies, and much more. Here are just a few places you should aim to visit this season!
Santa Monica Pier
The lights, the sounds, the games, the sea – What’s there not to love about Santa Monica Pier? Not only is it iconic, but it’s a part of California’s history. Standing the test of time, it first opened in 1909. With lots to do and plenty to see, your kids will enjoy their afternoon out at the pier.
Museums
The Natural History Museum, LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits, California Science Center… We could go on. It’s safe to say that Los Angeles doesn’t lack in museums. While you may not be able to hit all of them (unless you’re very determined), start with your favorite three and take your kids for an educational day out.
Beaches
What better way to soak up the sun than by visiting the beach? California is known for its beaches – so make the most of them! Explore ones you haven’t been to and take your children to the top sites. Make it an educational experience by creating a checklist of everything that they have to find at the beach (seaweed, shells, sand castle, etc.)
Kayaking
Have an afternoon of fun by going kayaking! It’s a great experience for children and adults alike! Explore the waters and test your knowledge of watercraft with this fun activity!
If you work all summer and want your teens to visit some of the sites listed, sign up for our travel camp! Every day is a new field trip – and a new adventure! From Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, we’ll see you there!
